Our Mission

Why Credentaro exists and what we believe every person over 65 deserves to know about the digital world.

A quiet exclusion happening in plain sight

Branch closures. Automated phone lines. Forms that only exist online. Over the past decade, accessing basic financial services without a smartphone or a computer has become genuinely difficult. For many people over 65, this wasn't a gradual adjustment. It happened fast.

Our founders noticed this happening in their own neighbourhood in Seville. Neighbours asking family members to manage their bank accounts. Retirees missing out on pension information because it was only published online. People avoiding digital tools not out of stubbornness but out of genuine uncertainty about how to use them safely.

Education, not products

Credentaro was established as a registered non-profit association. From the beginning, we made one clear decision: we would never accept funding from banks, financial institutions, or commercial technology companies. Our workshops exist to inform and empower, not to promote any product or service.

That independence shapes everything we do. When we explain how online banking works, we have no incentive to downplay its risks. When we cover pension revaluation, we present the information as it is, without commercial interpretation. This is educational work, done honestly.

  • No commercial affiliations of any kind
  • No fees charged to participants
  • Volunteer-led facilitation

Three areas where knowledge makes a real difference

Safe Online Banking

Understanding how internet banking works, what the security measures mean, how to log in safely from home or a library, and what to do when something unexpected appears on a statement. We walk through real bank interfaces step by step, at a pace that works for everyone in the room.

Fraud Identification

Scam messages are sophisticated. They can appear to come from your bank, from a government agency, from a delivery service. Our workshop uses real examples to show exactly what these messages look like, what language patterns they use, and what to do when you receive one.

Pension Revaluation Basics

Understanding how Spanish pensions are updated, what factors affect the annual revaluation, and where to find accurate official information. We don't give financial advice. We explain the publicly available framework so participants can engage with it confidently.

Peer Learning Sessions

Beyond our structured workshops, we hold informal sessions where participants share questions, experiences, and tips. Learning from people in similar situations often makes information stick better than any classroom format.
